Lovers of music, nature, and outdoor adventure will find the custom 4-day/3-night Musical Raft Trip on the Colorado River to be the experience of a lifetime. Called “a feast for all senses”, the trip starts with the Festival’s signature Grotto Concert, and continues for three more days of rafting, flat-water swimming, hiking, floating, rapids, and concerts by world-class artists in extraordinary wilderness settings. This is an unparalleled opportunity to tune your inner rhythms to the flow of the river.
An expert crew will guide you through one and a half exhilarating days of Cataract Canyon’s world-famous Class III, IV, and V rapids. Renowned river historian, John Weisheit, shares insights about the Colorado river along the way. Return from Lake Powell by plane, retracing the trip through Canyonlands National Park from above, on the most scenic shuttle flight imaginable. Arrive back in Moab late the evening of September 17.

Important Details
The Cataract Canyon Musical Raft Trip is outfitted by Sheri Griffith River Expeditions (SGRE). A pre-trip orientation will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 13. This trip begins at 7 am, on September 14, at SGRE, 2231 US-191, in Moab. Secure parking is available. Participants will return to SGRE on September 17, in the evening.
The scenic shuttle flight from Hite Marina to Moab, on the final day, is operated by Redtail Air Adventures.
Ages 16 and above.
This is a multi-day raft trip, 4 days/3 nights, starting Monday, September 14, 7 am; ending Thursday, September 17, evening.
Detailed logistical information, participant information forms, and standard liability waiver forms, will be sent out in early June, to be completed, signed and returned to Moab Music Festival by June 30.
All concerts, camp and concert seating, tents, sleeping gear, waterproof gear storage, and personal floatation devices are included in the ticket price. Wine, beer, soft drinks, water and all snacks and meals are provided.
Participants should be in general good health, possess a moderate level of physical strength and agility, and be comfortable in the outdoors. No previous camping experience required.
Assistance is available to familiarize you with tent set-up and other gear handling. Your trip gear will be packaged in “check-in” waterproof baggage, to which you will have access only at camp, and “carry-on” individual waterproof containers, to which you will have access whenever you wish during the day or night. Gear will be distributed at the orientation.
Cataract Canyon contains lengthy and serene flatwater sections, and the most challenging whitewater in the region with 14 miles of rapids ranging in difficulty up to Class V. It is a particularly hazardous and isolated section of the Colorado River, which is surrounded by unforgettable scenery with towering red rock walls and spectacular weathered formations. This concert takes place in a sensitive wilderness setting and we must leave it as we found it.
Program and artists are subject to change without notice.
End time may vary based on many factors beyond the control of MMF & SGRE, but is expected to be in the early evening.
