A “jaw-dropping pianist who steals the show…with effortless finesse” (Washington Post), Amy is a pianist who aspires to advance connections between the arts and its communities through committed expressions of musical leadership on and off stage.
In the recent past, she soloed with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra under Osmo Vänskä at Marian Anderson Hall at the Kimmel Center; toured and recorded the complete Schumann Sonatas (on fortepiano) with violinist Alexi Kenney; played with saxophonist Valentin Kovalev at Carnegie Recital Hall; toured throughout the U.S. with Merz Trio; gave world premieres of pieces by Steve Mackey and Richard Danielpour; taught as faculty of New York Youth Symphony, Dallas Chamber Music Society, Norfolk, Borromeo and Olympic Music Festivals; played for patients at Penn Memory Center and the ICUs of UW Hospital; recorded for Curtis Studio’s new release – A Century of New Sounds; appeared in Spoleto Festival USA’s release on Phenotypic Records; played with Edgar Meyer at Musical Masterworks; played solo recitals and appeared on series and festivals such as Spoleto, Chamberfest Cleveland, Texas Music Festival, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Seattle Chamber Music Series, Music Middays; and judged the Hilton Head Int’l Piano Competition and Cleveland Int’l Piano Competition for Young Artists. At the Curtis Institute of Music, she serves as the Director of Chamber Music and Piano Studies. She deeply cherishes a musical friendship with Tessa Lark spanning two decades and is thrilled to be at Moab for the first time!
