Set adrift on the Colorado River beneath Moab’s monumental red-rock walls, the first of two Festival Floating Concerts presents a compelling and deeply personal program of works for strings curated by composer-in-residence Andrew Yee called ‘Halfie’. A Grammy-winning cellist and composer, Andrew’s “spellbindingly virtuosic” (The London Telegraph) playing graces the river with a program representing her artistic ethos: music as reflection, transformation, and conversation with the natural world.
About the venue: An open-air river boat takes you several miles up the Colorado River. Surrounded by towering canyon walls, patrons stay aboard to see festival artists perform the outdoor concert against a red rock backdrop. A wonderful brunch awaits following this magical experience.
