Hikers, don your sunscreen and journey to a majestic spot in a magnificent secluded canyon ideal for acoustic music. The program of string solos and a duo covers music from Bach, Mozart to living composers Theo Lovendie and John Corigliano and his Red Violin Caprices, from the acclaimed movie The Red Violin.
These scenic hikes, among our most popular events, offer unparalleled musical intimacy and engagement with the artists. Patrons are shuttled to an undisclosed trailhead location. A Canyonlands Field Institute naturalist familiarizes hikers with the terrain and leads the way to the scenic concert location.

Important Details
8:00 am departure; free shuttles to the trailhead. Please park at HMK elementary school parking lot, 505 N Mivida Dr, Moab; no parking by the Aquatics Center.
7:30-7:50 am check-in across the street at Swanny City Park (beside Moab Aquatics Center). Bring a copy of your ticket for the smoothest possible check-in. Participants return to Moab by Noon.
Please consider road construction when planning your arrival.
The hike portion of this event is in partnership with Canyonlands Field Institute. An information packet, with participant information forms, and standard liability waiver forms, will be sent to you in June, to be signed and returned to Moab Music Festival by June 30.
Please arrive with your water bottles full; hydration is important. You may pack a light snack, if desired.
The hike requires a moderate level of stamina, agility and comfort with uneven footing and environmental factors. The hike can be sunny. It is recommended that you apply sunscreen, bring a hat and bug spray, and hydrate throughout. Comfortable outdoor clothing for a desert environment is recommended. Hiking/trail shoes are required. Hiking poles are welcome. A portable trail toilet will be set up along the hiking route.
