A morning hike takes us to a wilderness site where deep contemplation and musical enjoyment live side by side. MMF’s expert string players take us on an excursion through over 300 years of works ranging from Bach through the present and from the lowest tones on the double bass to the highest on the violin.
These scenic hikes, among our most popular events, offer unparalleled musical intimacy and engagement with the artists. Patrons are shuttled to an undisclosed trailhead location. A Canyonlands Field Institute naturalist familiarizes hikers with the terrain and leads the way to the scenic concert location.
