Event Description:

Twenty-five years of MMF Composers-in-Residence.

The MMF has a storied history of featuring some of America’s greatest composers, often coming to Moab for the first time in their lives. Since 1993, important composers have come to Moab, interacted with the community, and presided over  performances of their music. This program offers a brief look back at MMF composers-in-residence and relives fond memories of their reactions to Moab, their personalities,  and music. Juantio Becenti, a Navajo composer joins his predecessors, and marks a 20-year relationship with the MMF in a performance of his colorful piano quartet Divertimento, premiered by the MMF in 2013.
